Donald Hallowes graduated in 1974 from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences and immediately thereafter began graduate studies in Resource Development. Mr. Hallowes' graduate studies led to an intern position at the Great Lakes Basin Commission, a federal agency that coordinated federal land use studies and grants for states in the Great Lakes Region.
After leaving graduate school, Mr. Hallowes began an auto parts remanufacturing and sales business. The business prospered, growing to three retail stores in Columbus with substantial wholesale sales to other auto part stores. The experience Mr. Hallowes gained in operating and selling his auto parts business gives him valuable insight in counseling small business enterprises on their legal concerns and in handling the sales of business operations.
Mr. Hallowes graduated 18th in his class at Capital Law School and was inducted into the Order of the Curia, a national honorary legal fraternity. He received a significant honor when his article on "Comprehensive General Liability Insurance Coverage of CERCLA Response Costs" was selected for publication in the Capital Law School Law Review. While attending law school, Mr. Hallowes worked full-time as a law clerk for a personal injury law firm, an insurance defense firm, and a business litigation firm. Immediately after graduation, Mr. Hallowes began practice on the far east side of Franklin County and has remained in the area ever since, building a practice with a primary focus on business representation, civil trial work, real estate, and probate matters. Mr. Hallowes is also licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.
