Scott Haynes, a Cincinnati area native, graduated from Cedarville College with degrees in Political Science, English and Theology. After graduation from Cedarville College, Mr. Haynes relocated to Columbus to perform graduate work in English at The Ohio State University. Upon completion of his graduate work, he enrolled in Capital Law School. During law school, Mr. Haynes was a research assistant for Professor John F. Jackson and a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Alan E. Norris of the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Haynes also practiced law as a legal intern at the Capital University Legal Clinic where he represented indigent clients accused of criminal offenses. Mr. Haynes graduated from Capital Law School in the top fifteen percent of his class and was inducted into the Order of the Curia, a national legal honor society.
After becoming a member of the state and federal bar associations, Mr. Haynes became a sole practitioner in Reynoldsburg. His practice focused on family law litigation, criminal defense, and general civil litigation. Mr. Haynes became associated with Donald B. Hallowes and Anthony J. Allen and they formed the law firm of Hallowes, Allen & Haynes.
Today, Mr. Haynes is an Ohio State Bar Association Board Certified Family Law Specialist and continues to focus his practice on family law litigation and has significant experience in divorce, custody and child support litigation throughout central Ohio. To become a Certified Family Law Specialist, Mr. Haynes had to:
- Demonstrate substantial and continuing involvement in Family Law;
- Submit five individual references from Judges, Magistrates and other attorneys attesting to his competency in Family Law;
- Have earned a minimum of 36 hours of intermediate or advance continuing education credits in Family Law during the past three years; and
- Pass an intensive examination encompassing all areas of Family Law.

This certification makes Mr. Haynes one of a small group of attorneys in Ohio to earn this distinction.
